The Golden Gear Award festivities & Joy Ride start/end will be at the Casa del Prado location, just west of the Natural History Museum in Balboa Park.

Light your bikes, wear your best/most colorful holiday attire (the crazier the better), and enjoy the holiday spirit with us!
Marisa and crew will again be onsite to help you with your last minute bike light decorating (for a fee.) Arrive early if you plan on accessorizing your bike with holiday lights. Check out Light Me Up Safety Lights in advance.
The evening will begin with a festive light-your-bike ride through Balboa Park through Uptown and end back for a family-friendly celebration of bikes at Casa del Prado!

Following Joy Ride, please join us as we celebrate and thank all the people who played a vital role in our work this year!
Golden Gear recipients are people and organizations who have gone above and beyond to help make our region more bike-friendly in 2023!
Silent Auction will take place during the festivities. Raffle ticket sales will continue until the Golden Gear Award presentations start at 8 PM.
Holiday themed hors d’oeuvre and drinks (non-alcoholic) are provided.
This event is family-friendly. You can RSVP for FREE. If you register with a donation of $25 or more, your registration includes tickets for the raffle prize drawing. Check out the Grand Prize shown above (REI DRT 1.1) Raffle tickets can also be purchased at the SDCBC merchandise table before and after the ride.
